Dr. David Allen Explains Medical Aspects
Recently the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine published a 400-page report which unequivocally illustrates that cannabinoids have indisputable medicinal attributes, the days of stigma and misinformation are over!
For those unfamiliar, “The National Academy of Sciences Engineering and Medicine it is a private non-profit institution that provides independent, objective analysis and advice to the Nation (USA), to solve complex problems and also to inform public policy decisions related to science technology and medicine. The Academy operates under an 1863 Charter to the National Academy of Sciences, and President Lincoln signed the Charter.” Reference – NASEM This 400-page report from 10,000 + pages of published research since 1999 definitively illustrates the medicinal benefit of cannabinoids according to 100 opinions formed via the National Academies of Science Medicine & Engineering. Among other conclusions, they determined that cannabinoids are an effective treatment for chronic pain, alleviating chemotherapy-related nausea, as well as reducing multiple sclerosis-related spasticities/syndrome, and related conditions, and much more. The Jan 12 report is titled:
“The Health Effects of Cannabis and Cannabinoids: The Current State of Evidence and Recommendations for Research”
“In one of the most comprehensive studies of recent research on the health effects of recreational and therapeutic cannabis use, a new report from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine offers a rigorous review of relevant scientific research published since 1999. This report summarizes the current state of evidence regarding what is known about the health impacts of cannabis and cannabis-derived products, including effects related to therapeutic uses of cannabis and potential health risks related to certain cancers, diseases, mental health disorders, and injuries. Areas in need of additional research and current barriers to conducting cannabis research are also covered in this comprehensive report.”
From the Chapter titled “4 Therapeutic Effects of Cannabis and Cannabinoids” we see the following, quote:
“by examining lists of qualifying ailments in states where such use is legal under state law. “CBD hemp oil is made from high-CBD, low-THC hemp, unlike medical marijuana products, which are usually made from plants with high concentrations of psychoactive tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Because hemp contains only trace amounts of THC, these hemp oil products are nonpsychoactive.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is just one of over 85 cannabinoids presently identified in the cannabis plant and is the second most abundant cannabinoid in marijuana after THC. In hemp, however, THC is only present in trace amounts, while CBD dominates the plant’s makeup. CBD interacts with our naturally occurring systems, but is non-psychotropic, it doesn’t cause a high. This makes it a safer, less controversial alternative, while still offering significant health benefits.” – MJNA
